The elders and staff at Peoples want to thank you for being supportive throughout this entire process. It has been difficult to not come together in-person on Sunday morning, but you have embraced the online experience and it has been encouraging to see how God is at work in new ways. With the recently updated executive orders we know some believe things should be opening up more quickly and others who feel it should go slowly.
It is important to know that, contrary to common knowledge and rumor, churches have been able to meet under Michigan Shelter-At-Home restrictions. Churches are not and have not been prohibited from gathering or worshiping in Michigan, even though that has been the case in other states. Pastors and staff have not - according to the Executive Orders - been in danger of arrest or fines for gathering.
There is much debate about the guidelines for large venues. This means that our congregational leaders must use wisdom when making decisions that affect our congregation and communities. We hope to provide, by mid-June, an in-person Sunday service for those people who feel comfortable to do so. We will also continue to stream the Sunday services online on PeoplesPinckney.com and Facebook. All other ministries will remain on hold for the time being.
Thank you for continuing to worship, pray, give, love and care for one another. We cannot wait until we are gathered together again!
