Juan Carlos grew up in Bolivia and was mentored by Charles Brooks who is the father of Dan Brooks - a former Mission Partner in Bolivia. At 17, while on a mission trip to Ecuador, Juan Carlos knew God was calling him to be a missionary there. He and Susanna, who is a teacher, work with the people in the capital city of Quito and the surrounding jungle regions. 

Their work includes evangelism, discipleship, Bible training and church planting. The pastors, missionaries and leaders from the jungle region are trained at The Bible Institute established by Juan Carlos. Recently, they have seen fruit in Jandayaku, a new place where they are sharing the Gospel. There is already a small congregation of believers meeting!
